Hi! I’m Brie and I’m nearing completion of my naturopathic clinical internship. I have been seeing patients full-time working at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic and Brampton Hospital. I could not be happier to additionally be seeing patients at Durham Natural Health Centre (DNHC) where I’ve been working for the past four and a half years. As part of my internship I applied for and was selected to work on the Fertility and Reproductive Health shift. This has allowed me to focus on, and receive extra training in this specific area. On this shift I’ve worked with a lot with couples trying to conceive naturally, couples working with fertility clinics, those undergoing assisted reproductive technology, pregnancy care, and women’s and hormonal health conditions. I welcome and treat all health concerns, however I have a special interest in women’s health, hormonal concerns, infertility, digestive complaints, weight loss, skin conditions, anxiety, depression and disease prevention. While I complete my internship, all of my patient cases at DNHC will be overseen by Dr. McCulloch, and Dr. Sandilands, meaning you get the benefit of their many years of clinical experience together with my knowledge leveraging the most up to date research giving you the best all around care.
I’m extremely passionate about challenging the status quo of health and helping people thrive rather than just survive. Health is so much more than just the absence of disease. With that, my mission is to empower you to make positive health changes that are both rewarding and sustainable because a healthier you, means a more successful you in all aspects of your life.
I knew health care was my calling. Health and wellness, fitness, nutrition, and helping others have always been a big part of my life. Four and a half years ago when I started working at DNHC it took me less than half of my first day before realizing I was going to become a naturopathic doctor. The combination of evidence based treatments with natural health care solutions aligned perfectly with my values. Coincidently around that same time I went through my own health struggles and when conventional medicine didn’t know what else to do for me I was really thankful to have discovered that alternative healthcare existed. The drastic improvements in my health were way beyond what I expected which further confirmed that helping others struggling with their health was my passion. I haven’t looked back since. I went on to graduate from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Science double majoring in Health Science and French and began the 4-year medical program that same year. I will be officially completing my internship and obtaining my Doctor of Naturopathy in May 2018. After 8 years of studies and practical experience, I couldn’t be more excited to become a fully licensed Naturopathic Doctor!
