Dr. Nadine Gavin H.BSc, ND
“Your health in your hands”
Before starting my career as a Naturopathic Doctor, I obtained my Honours Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry & Biomedical Science at McMaster University. While completing research at Hamilton General Hospital I was active in the community as a Best Buddy and member of Smiling Over Sickness. These experiences motivated me to pursue a career as a naturopathic doctor, educator and health advocate. I enjoyed four years at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine and went on to complete a two year clinical residency working with special populations at Anishnawbe Health Toronto, Sherbourne Health Centre and BNTC at Brampton Civic Hospital. I continue to teach and mentor at CCNM as a Clinic Supervisor and have extra training in pediatric care and intravenous therapy.
I will work with you to fully understand your health concerns and create a treatment plan that fits into your everyday life. My goal is to empower others towards positive change that is rewarding and sustainable.
I have been published in Naturopathic Currents and was featured in the summer 2014 issue of Mind Body Spirit.
Dr. Antonia Tsallas ND
My naturopathic medical journey began while pursuing my Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of British Columbia. While living in Vancouver, I experienced a different way of life, one that promoted healthy living, physical activity and outings in nature while balancing time with friends and family. I introduced myself to yoga, kickboxing, hiking, kayaking, and running. Living there, I realized that the secret to living a healthy and balanced life is in the company we keep and the environment we live. This is what empowered me to take charge of my life and my health.
I completed my Naturopathic Medical Degree from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. During my clinical internship, I had the opportunity to work on the Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue shift. As a result, I have a special interest in pain management, stress management, and mental health. However, I enjoy treating all conditions and welcome concerns in digestive health as well as hormone health.
I am a member of both the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors. My passion for Naturopathic Medicine motivates me to expand my knowledge in the field of naturopathy through educational talks, coaching and attending medical conferences.
My initial training in pharmaceutical sciences has resulted in a strong knowledge base of pharmaceutics in the field of drug delivery and research, which compliments my current practice of alternative medicine. Hence, through naturopathic research, I hope to discover alternative methods for improving ones health in supplemental delivery and naturopathic treatment.
My journey through naturopathic medicine ignited me to start listening to my own needs, which I hope to pass on to others with similar health goals. The path to wellness is a journey, I would love to be the health professional ready to assist you on your way. To find out more, follow me on facebook.
Dr. Christal Blanchard BSc, MSc, CISSN, ND
Christal is a bilingual, licensed Naturopathic Doctor. She has been treating families in Northern Ontario and Toronto for 7 years. Patients come to her with a wide range of conditions such as hormonal imbalances, gastrointestinal disturbances, food sensitivities, weight loss, thyroid disease, bioenergetic imbalances, chronic pain and more.
Christal’s approach to patient care is to bring balance to the mind and body by addressing the root cause of disease. She is focused on the “why” of the condition rather than managing symptoms.
Christal obtained certification in Restorative Medicine with the Association for the Advancement of Restorative Medicine (AARM) including specialized training in women’s health, metabolic diseases, thyroid disorders and endocrine dysfunction. She has had much success in optimizing hormonal balance with both natural supplements and bio-identical hormones (such as topical estrogen and progesterone) as well as dessicated thyroid extract (for thyroid hormone replacement therapy).
With a passion for sports and a former university basketball player, Christal had additional training in sports medicine during her clinical rotation at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. She has also completed her certification with the International Society of Sports Nutrition (ISSN) and is currently completing her training for certification with the International College of Applied Kinesiology (ICAK). The AK practitioner follows the principle that specific muscles are linked to specific organs. By identifying the muscles that are unstable, we can identify underlying imbalances in the body both presently and preventatively.
Christal earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and a Master of Science degree in Chemical Sciences from Laurentian University. During her research studies, she learned the importance of evidence-based research and continues to use these tools in her daily practice as a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine. Christal Graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2011. She passed the Ontario Prescribing and Therapeutics exam administered by the College of Naturopaths of Ontario in July 2015 allowing her to prescribe and use natural substances that are regulated under federal legislation. She is a member of the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors, the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors and the International Society of Sports Nutrition.
