What to Expect

Your first visit to a Naturopathic Doctor is often a refreshing and unique experience. During your initial visit, you will spend 1 hour with your naturopathic doctor and you will go through an extensive health history. This is important so that we can gain a thorough understanding of your health needs.

This information along with relevant physical examinations and any necessary laboratory testing (blood, urine and/or salivary tests) are all taken into consideration when designing a comprehensive treatment plan.

Naturopathic Medicine focuses on individualized medicine, so your treatment plan will be tailored to your unique needs.

Initial Visit

Your initial visit is 60 minutes in length and it is important that you fill out an intake form prior to your visit. During this visit you will go through a thorough health history, focusing on your current health concerns, past medical history, family history and a complete review of the major systems of the body.

If you are taking any medications or supplements, please bring them with you to this visit. An initial treatment plan will be recommended at the end of your first visit which occasionally requires homework to be completed (i.e. fill out a food log etc.) and we may require lab tests to be preformed or to be requested from your medical doctor’s office.

Second Visit

Your second visit is 60 minutes in length and usually takes place 1-2 weeks after your initial visit. During the time between visits our Naturopathic Doctors will analyze your needs and request any lab testing that may be required. A complete physical exam will be performed in this visit and your comprehensive treatment plan will be initiated.

Follow Up Visits

Your follow up visits range in time between 30 and 60 minutes depending on your health needs. These visits include periodic progress checks as well as annual wellness checks.
