Wendy Shanks RN
I achieved honours in Nursing science from Queen’s University in 1989. I started my career in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit where I spent 10 years looking after critically ill infants and helping families during what was suppose to be one of the happiest times of their lives. After struggling to start a family of my own, I shifted my focus to women’s health and specialized in the field of Fertility nursing.
I currently still work in this area, finding egg donation and surrogacy solutions for my patients. I am a member of both the CNO and RNAO professional organizations.
Diagnosed with a chronic disease at a young age and living with illness for most of my life, it was holistic medicine that changed my life when all else failed. I am passionate about alternative medicine and am grateful to have the opportunity to be apart of the incredible team at DNHC.
I try and balance my professional life as a Registered nurse and licensed Realtor. I am fortunate to love what I do and have built my career around helping people. When I am not working, I enjoy a visit to the barn to hang with our horse or an escape to the cottage with my family and three dogs.
